Biography

Laurent Grynszpan is a pianist, composer and music teacher. He has always been driven by the desire to pass on his knowledge.​

As a composer, he brings this originality to classical music, with Souvenirs de la belle époque (Universal Music Publishing), a repertoire for piano four hands recorded at the Salle Wagram in Paris, as well as to traditional music, which he arranged and orchestrated for the record Jacinta, Autres Chansons Yiddish (Occora Radio France). Laurent Grynszpan’s compositions are the fruit of rich and varied musical styles. He composes for the screen, in particular the music for the films Tzedek, les Justes and Birobidjan, Birobidjan! by the writer Marek Halter.

Laurent Grynszpan also wrote music for Méliès! Cabaret Magique, a show combining cinema, magic, theater and music.

In 2011, Laurent wrote arrangements for piano four hands of Offenbach’s arias for the CD À Quand le Cancan? Oliver Minne raconte… Published by Taklit, the album in book-audio and CD-digipack versions was released under harmonia mundi’s LittleVillage label in June 2015.

Intrigued by the period and universe of Offenbach, Laurent Grynszpan decided to set to music Le voyage de Monsieur Perrichon by Eugène Labiche first performed at the Grand Amphithéâtre de la Sorbonne in 2013.

In September 2020 Laurent Grynszpan recorded original piano music for two albums: Piano Stories: Comedy Burlesque AND Romance & Elegance (PennyBank Tunes editions).

For the 2020-21 season, the Edgar Varèse Conservatory (Gennevilliers) commissioned Laurent Grynszpan to compose 24 Miniatures Modulables sans Modération, 24 short pieces of chamber music for students of all levels.
